Project Overview – Replacement of all heating and domestic water services pipework throughout a live school environment, complete with new heat emitters throughout which are controlled and operated through an intelligent building energy management controls system to reduce operational energy.

This project involved the full strip out and replacement of heating and domestic water pipework within a live school environment, and was therefore carried out predominantly through night-shift working with strategic ‘swapovers’ and major intrusive works carried out during half-term periods. Further works on this project included the replacement of the incoming water main which required the involvement of United Utilities, as well as a full BMS controls upgrade, and replacement of the site’s hot water generation and associated flues.

Lakeside M&E provided alternative value engineering designs for this project which were accepted by the project’s consultant and implemented on site, with the whole of the works completed with no loss of hot water or heating to the school.

• New mains cold water into the school with associated ground works
