Project Overview – installation of 52KWp Solar PV Installation consisting of 152 Photovoltaic Panels and 2no 25KW Three Phase Invertors

Lakeside engineers have guided NHS Digital through early-stage proposals to on-site delivery and the set-up of on going maintenance. This project began as a sustainability and energy reduction survey of the site, within which several sustainable technologies were proposed, these being Solar PV, Rainwater Harvesting, and Air Source Heat Pumps.

Fast forward one year and NHS Digital made the decision to install the proposed Solar PV System, and so detailed designs and proposals were introduced.

Working alongside the principle contractor, Lakeside Engineers managed the whole process of on-site delivery which also included the scaffolding of the site, Health and Safety management, and interlink with on-site generators and fire alarm systems.
Having started on site in March 2020, this project was delivered through the very early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, which presented several very new and evolving challenges. However, the entire project was delivered with no incidents or accidents, on time, and on budget to an extremely satisfied end customer.

Since project completion in June 2020, this PV System has saved more than 16,000KG of C02 which is the equivalent of 735 trees planted, and continues to reduce the site’s ongoing carbon footprint.
